Calling himself a sand artist, Lowell Hunter created the design of the Melbourne Demons Mens Season 8 AFLW Indigenous Guernsey 2023 by carving the design into the sand with his feet. The work was then captured and digitised for the jersey. Fire is in the middle of the artwork, emphasising the importance of storytelling among First Nations culture where people would meet around the fire and trade tales. The sun sits at the top of the artwork reminding fans the importance of moving forwards towards a reconciled Australia.
