Russellina Puruntatameri celebrates her Tiwi culture across the design of the Carlton Blues Men’s Indigenous Guernsey 2023. Images of Tiwi culture are seen through the design with the Kulama Ceremony, Pamajini and spear. Circular shapes on the guernsey represent the ceremonial dancing ground a the centre of the design, an important ceremony in the Tiwi community that symbolises good health, hunting and initiation. The strength and resilience of Tiwi women is illustrated with the Numwariyaka (spear) and Pamajini (arm bands) which sit proudly across the front.
